2014 Poppy Appeal at Bouverie Place Shopping Centre

Wed 26th November to Fri 26th December 2014

Bouverie Place Shopping Centre and the British Legion Poppy Appeals around the town this year have collected a great amount of money in this centenary year.

The British Legion were out and about throughout the town in the weeks before the 11th November and we had a number of collectors within the Centre also collecting.

Mark Hardie the Local Honorary Organiser for Folkestone told us that "with Bouverie Place and the great generosity of the people of Folkestone we have managed to raise a fantastic total of £11,844.20 which is over £1,000 more than last year in this district."

Top collector within the area was our own Flower Lady Kelly Finch, who managed with help on her stall to collect £463.50.  There were many people who donated their crochet poppies for her to sell and they looked great on whoever wore them.

Well done Folkestone, without your help, the British Legion would be unable to continue their vital welfare and benevolent work and your donations have gone some way to helping the Legion achieve their target of £40,000,000 for this years appeal.
